It’s scary how time flies; the end of 2019 is nearly upon us! We’ve curated 10 exciting events that will happen right here in our little red dot this month — and we’re sure November will be nothing short of amazing, even if you’re not travelling!
1. 2nd and 3rd November — The Conscious Festival
Who said that fun and sustainability aren’t bedfellows? Spend your weekend (2nd and 3rd November) by going green and having a whale of time at the Conscious Festival! Powered by Holland & Barrett, the event will showcase a gamut of environmentally-conscious brands like Bamboo Straw Girl and GreenieGenie and offer a slew of inspiring talks by change-makers.
This festival takes a fun twist in building awareness on environmental issues. Apart from trying yummy vegan food, prepare to partake in bicycle craft-milkshake sessions and free skin consultations. 2. 9 and 10 November — KAMP Singapore 2019: K-Pop Music Festival
Are you a die-hard K-Pop fan? Well, don’t miss this rare opportunity to see some of your idols in person! KAMP will be making its first stop in Singapore on 9 and 10 November and we simply can’t wait for iconic acts such as MOMOLAND, Super Junior and NCT 127 to bless us with their killer dance moves and powerful vocals. Besides the concert, you can expect to see your favourite stars up close and personal at the red carpet event at the OCBC Square.

3. 16 November — Battle Of The Reds 2019
Attention all Liverpool and Manchester United fans! Witness the face-off between teams Liverpool and Manchester Reds right here in the Lion City. This is the first time in years (since 2015) that the Battle of the Reds tournament in Singapore will include former Liverpool and Manchester United players. Expect to see the likes of Clayton Blackmore and Danny Murphy battle for supremacy (the rivalry is real, guys). Come Saturday,16 November at the National Stadium, the showdown will also feature our very own Singapore Reds! Get ready to be wowed by the finesse of local household names (think Fandi Ahmad and Aleksandar Duric). Tickets are selling out fast at Sports Hub Tix, so you should know what to do!
4. 16 November to 1st January — Christmas Light Up at Orchard Road
It’s never too early to bask in the magic of Christmas. Themed the The Greatest Gift, Tanglin, Orchard and Somerset will feature different ornaments: gift boxes, snowflakes and cute little Santas. The Great Christmas Village will be located at three different locations this year: *SCAPE, Grange Road Car Park and Shaw House Urban Plaza. Remember to make a beeline for the tasty street food and amusement rides! Celebrations at *SCAPE will also boast nightly performances by emerging artists like Estelle Fly and Charlene Su.
You can start admiring the year-end decorations at Singapore’s main shopping thoroughfare from 16 November. Kickstart your Christmas gift-shopping while you’re at it!
5. 16 November — Why Don’t We 8 Letters Tour Live in Singapore
The American boy band Why Don’t We has taken the world by storm since their formation in 2016. These five young talents — Jonah Marais, Corbyn Besson, Daniel Seavey, Jack Avery, and Zach Herron — have successfully amassed an impressive social media following (4.2 million Instagram fans and counting!) and produced hit tracks such as Why, Big Plans and 8 Letters.
The up-and-coming pop sensation is set to perform at Sands Expo and Convention Centre at the Marina Bay Sands (MBS) on Saturday, 16 November. Tickets are on sale now through MBS’s ticketing channels and SISTIC.
6. 21 November to 1st December — Singapore International Film Festival
Film buffs, here is an event that’s right up your alley. Yes, you heard me right: the largest and longest-running film event in Southeast Asia is back. The 30th Singapore International Film Festival (SGIFF), which runs from 21 November to 1st December, will open your eyes to the majesty of cinema. Nourish the soul by experiencing the Korean classic Memories of Murder or Golden Bear winner Synonyms on the big screen. Famous local writer-director Anthony Chen (remember Ilo Ilo?) will also be opening the Festival with his newest film, Wet Season.
Don’t know which film to catch? Well, Alejandro Landes’s Monos will be so thought-provoking your head will hurt from all that contemplation. Meanwhile, Zaw Bo Bo Hein’s Sick will leave your heart black and blue. Prepare to turn on the waterworks! Is your head already giddy with anticipation? Don’t say we didn’t warn you: get your hands on those tickets before it is too late.
7. 23 and 24 November — Neon Lights Festival 2019
Calling all partygoers and music lovers: Singapore’s premier outdoor music and arts festival Neon Lights is returning with a bang! The festival will be happening on 23 and 24 November, from 1pm till late. This year’s edition is going to be lit with Grammy-Award winning rock band Mumford & Sons and electronic duo HONNE helming the festival on Day 1. Dance the night away at newly restored Fort Canning Park with multi-platinum songstress Halsey and electropop singer-songwriter Aurora on Day 2. It’s an outdoor experience you cannot miss this November!

8. 23 November — Mosaic Music Series: Boy Pablo
The indie pop-rock band’s Nicolas Pablo Munoz is a lyrical genius through and through. Boy Pablo’s melodramatic and melancholic lyrics of heartbreak never fails to make one tear up, for they always hit a little too close to home: “Her keyboard gets slammed by her fingers/But he replies with “Okay” every time,” croons Pablo in his track Everything. The Norwegian also decides to let off some steam in Losing You: “How would you feel if I walked up to you one day/And ripped your heart out?”
Following the resounding success of their EP Soy Pablo, Boy Pablo is set to perform live at the Esplanade Concert Hall on Saturday, 23 November. Unfortunately, tickets to their concert are sold out. 9. 29 November to 1st December — C3 Anime Festival Asia Singapore (C3AFA)
J-Pop culture lovers and cosplay enthusiasts will be in seventh heaven this November. Singapore’s most prestigious and highly anticipated convention is a flurry of all things anime-, gaming- and cosplay-related. The festival will also feature I Love Anisong concert performances by famous pop rock band MYTH & ROID and voice actress and singer Ayaka Ohashi. Oh, and don’t miss your golden chance to snap a pic with cosplayer celebrities such as Japan’s Enako, Malaysia’s Hakken and born and bred Singaporean, Rithe.

10. 29 November to 1st December — Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon
Do you eat miles for breakfast? Are your Saturdays usually spent at Bedok or MacRitchie Reservoir? Well, let’s see how you’d fare at the Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon (SCSM)! Singapore’s most popular race is back and will be held from 29 November to 1st December 2019.
This year’s edition is particularly special as the SCSM will be held at night for the very first time. What’s more, it will introduce an Under-23 (U-23) Youth Championships category, which gives young marathoners and cross-country runners a great opportunity to showcase their grit and stamina. If the thought of running 41.195 kilometres makes you queasy, don’t sweat it! There are other race categories such as the five- and 10-kilometre categories and Toyota Ekiden.
